This game is not a grand epic universal parody of racial stereotypes (notice how blacks are disproportionately the biggest enemy type) and I feel like 'not taken seriously' pushes people to write it off as that. There are people on the internet who make these kinds of jokes about black people because they genuinely believe black people are lesser humans (hence stuff like r/greatapes). I can see the value in seeing this game as fun for the sheer ridiculousness of it (for fucks sake, you can play as Hitler and shoot floating Jewish banker heads), but I'm not sure if I buy the 'not meant to be taken seriously' defense.įor one, /pol/ is a weird mix of genuine racists and people pretending to be racist for the sake of being 'edgy,' so the memey stereotype clusterfuck in this game is not entirely shock value.
